LA BOMBA

The daughter of Methodist missionaries, Isabel Johns was born in Tijuana, Mexico. At age 10, she fled the life of a missionary and joined a band of traveling circus performers, touring throughout Mexico. By age 18, she had gained national acclaim as “La Bomba” for her big top act that included acrobatic dance routines, followed by an explosive ending where she would be shot from a canon. During one of these performances, she suffered severe burns when the canon misfired, and soon thereafter left the circus life for the danger and excitement of the wrestling ring. La Bomba soon became known for her cat-like stealth on the mat and was commonly accompanied at matches by her sidekick and pet leopard, Trixie. That was until a fateful evening in 2011, when one of her opponents poisoned Trixie during a cage match. La Bomba has vowed to avenge the death of her beloved Trixie by defeating every Luchadora in La Bomba’s path to the title of World Champion Luchadora. She proudly wears leopard print to honor the memory of her best feline pal.
