THE SCRAMBLER(photo by Katherine Clark)  The Scrambler was born in a science lab and raised by psychoanalysts in some unknown city. She read numbers of lab reports 12 hours a day for 20 years. The rest of her childhood was spent spinning in circles, pasting bits of newspaper in books Dada-style, and eating beans with a rusty spoon.  When she finally escaped from the lab, the first person that The Scrambler met was Crazy Legs. The Scrambler always knew she had the luchadora spirit in her. After all, it’s always been about the power of the mind for The Scrambler. They became close friends, or so she thought.  Crazy Legs betrayed her by joining a secret dance society and left the Scrambler outside in the dust. Alone and furious, she vowed to avenge herself. Luckily, she remembers a few mind tricks from the lab. Her signature move is The Vertigo and changed Crazy Leg’s thoughts… but only temporarily. She was defeated in November’s LUCHADORA event. She now enables even more moves to put a dizzying spell on her next opponent fueled by a psychotic fury and relentless determination to win. Since her last match in Durham, The Scrambler has been spinning around Mexico eating the hottest salsa she can find and spicing up her lucha moves. In Mexico City she had a run-in with a great and grizzly Luchadora named The Norwegian Nightmare. The Scrambler has tricked The Norwegian Nightmare into coming to Durham so that she can practice The Vertigo on a new foe.
