LA AMAZONA

La Amazona hails from a faraway land of women warriors, a jungle known as the Amazon. The origin of the word “amazona” is derived from the meaning “single-breasted woman” as a testament to how these warriors fought with scrupulous vigor. They spared one breast, a symbol and life force of femininity, to create better range while hunting game with bows and arrows. Independent, fierce and extremely tall, they can only support a society of the biggest, strongest and fittest. This particular Amazon warrior was thrown out because she is too small and weak for her tribe. Now she fights to prove that there is no warrior too small, no heart too weak, to stand strong against injustice and crimes inflicted upon humanity. Lucha libre has become an appropriate stage for La Amazona, where she is determined to be the most imposing force in the ring. She has teamed up with Medusa for Durham’s first ever Tag Team Lucha Libre match against La Aguila Dorada and La Sirenita de Tijuana.
